[2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2Peter 1:19-21; John 10:35; 14-26; 16:13; Romans 3:2; 1 Thessalonians
2:13; 2 Samuel 23:2; Exodus 20:1; Galatians1:6-9]
3. THAT the one true eternal GODHEAD exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are all equally God. The truth of the Trinity is best understood as we experience the work of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in our lives. No finite human analogy adequately explains the Godhead. [1 Timothy 3:16]. The FATHER is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. He is omnipresent (everywhere), omniscient (knows everything), omnipotent (all-powerful), eternal and unchanging. The Scriptures emphasize His holiness, love, mercy, grace, faithfulness and just judgment extended to man in Christ.
[Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; 1 Timothy 2:5; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 14:15-26;Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 3:9; Hebrews 1:1-3; Colossians 1:16; Romans 5:8; Psalm 103:9-13]
4. THAT the unique historical JESUS CHRIST was eternally pre-existent with the Father but was incarnated as a man to fulfil God the Father’s plan for Man’s redemption. He was fully man and fully God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and gave himself as the ransom-sacrifice for sinful mankind. He is the only mediator between God and mankind. The historical event of the resurrection is the foundation of Christianity. Some of his main titles are Messiah (which in the Greek is “Christos” from which we derive Christ) [1 John 4:25-26]; Lord [Acts 10:36], Son of God [John 20:3I]; Son of Man [Matthew 8:20]; the Word [John 1:1-4]; High Priest [Hebrews 7:23-28]; Lamb of God [John 1:29]; Prince of Peace [Isaiah 9:6]; the Suffering Servant [Isaiah 52:13; 53:12]. Christ’s fulfilment of O.T. prophecy authenticates His deity and verifies the divine inspiration of the Bible
[Acts 3:18; 17:2-3; Romans 1:2; Luke 24:27,44]. [John 1:1-3,14; 8:46, 50-58; Galatians 4:4-5; Hebrews 2:14-18; 1 Timothy 2:5; 3:16; Luke 24:36-43; Revelation 1:8; 1 Corinthians 15; Daniel 7:9-14; Psalm 110:1].
