• GOD's wisdom for you
  • Before we know God and know how He wants us to live, we live the best way we can. We look for love; we look for success and purpose in our life. We do our best, but things go wrong; bad things happen to us and we make bad choices. We experience times of sadness and confusion and wonder what life is all about.

The Bible says that “there is a way that seems right to a man but the end of that way is death.” It also tells us that we are in darkness and need to find the light. We are looking for truth, and looking for love, but we will find neither in this world apart from through God. As the Bible says:
    Isaiah 59: 9
So there is no justice among us, and we know nothing about right living. We look for light but find only darkness. We look for bright skies but walk in gloom.
10 We grope like the blind along a wall, feeling our way like people without eyes. Even at brightest noontime, we stumble as though it were dark. Among the living, we are like the dead.
11 We growl like hungry bears; we moan like mournful doves. We look for justice, but it never comes. We look for rescue, but it is far away from us. (New Living Translation)

Jesus said that we are lost—we are like sheep that have gone astray. We have wandered away from the shepherd and can't find our way back.

Just as lost sheep are surrounded by wild animals we are also surrounded by those that want to attack and cause us harm. To save ourselves we change like the wild ones around us. We lose our innocence and do things that we know are wrong trying to survive and fit in and cope with life in a mad and savage world.

But when we do that, something in us dies—our heart hardens and we become a person that we don't really want to be.

When we are on our own we are not happy. We wonder what will become of us. We want to be different; we want to experience peace and contentment, but it seems so far from us.
